|BUILDINGS & GROUNDS||This group is responsible for maintaining and beautifying the SUUS buildings and grounds, and allocating spaces for varying needs. Meetings: as needed. Work parties on the grounds are held the second Saturday of the month. 9 a.m. Chair: Cecily Garnhardt.|
|CARING||This group provides a communication bridge and responds to health and wellbeing needs of the SUUS community. Meetings: As needed. Chair: Cecily Garnhardt.|
|CHOIR “ONIONAIRES”||For those who like to sing choral music. The choir sings during the Sunday Service twice a month and performs an annual concert in the spring and winter. Rehearsals are every Thursday at 7:15 PM in the Sanctuary. Leigh Garner – Choir Director.|
|CASUAL CONVERSATIONS AND COFFEE||Covenant Group of seniors discusses various issues. Meets every Friday from 10 AM to noon in the Conference Room. Willy Hoult – Facilitator.|
|FINANCE||Oversees Onion finances, reviews accounts, and plan for future budget issues. Meeting: Conference Room, 10:30 AM 2nd Monday monthly. Chair: Angie Whiteman, Financial Officer.|
|HOSPITALITY||Everyone in the congregation is invited to participate. We have hired help for clean up, but rotate the host position weekly. Our hospitality creates a welcoming environment for fellowship after Sunday services by providing coffee, tea, juice, breads, cookies, trail mix, fruits, vegetables, and more. The second Sunday of the month is Pot Luck Sunday!! We have many different dishes and people! look forward to bringing their offerings as well as partaking of good food, good friends, and good conversation.|
|MEMBERSHIP||Committee members are at the Greeter’s Table every Sunday to welcome and introduce visitors to our society. We Host the New UU (New to Unitarian Universalism) orientation sessions on a quarterly basis. Is responsible, along with the Minister, for holding Welcoming Ceremonies for new members entering the community. Integrates New Members and celebrates birthdays. Meets on third Sunday of the Month at 12:15 in the Conference Room. Chair: Phyllis Ruscillo.|
|MEN’S GROUP||This group of SUUS men meets at scheduled times to share stories and discuss what it means to be a 21st Century man. Those interested in participating in a group that affords an opportunity to explore varied experiences including occasional field trips and walks through our local mountains are welcome to join.|
|PUBLICITY||Assists with publicity and public relations for the Onion and upcoming events through varied media outlets including the Onion’s newsletter and Web Site. Meetings: third Tuesday of the month at 10:30 AM in the Office. Chair: Barrie Hafler.|
|RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION||Opportunity exists through the assistance of many people: teachers, helpers, musicians, craftspeople, and anyone who enjoys working with our young and growing UUs. Includes childcare provided on Sundays during services. Positions open for volunteers.|
|SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE||The mission of the SUUS Social Justice Committee is to coordinate social action efforts, empower the congregation to choose social justice issues for study and action, and integration of such activities fully into the overall life of the congregation. Meetings: Office, 7 PM, fourth Tuesday of month. Chair: Carol Hart.|
|SUNDAY SERVICE||Working with our Minister, this team plans, evaluates and arranges for Sunday Services including presenters, music, readings, visuals and ambiance. Meeting: Conference Room, first Tuesday of the month, 3 PM. Chair: Marilyn Morton.|
|WRITER’S GROUP||A workshop for writers and non-writers that utilizes various writing exercises and prompts under the leadership of a skilled facilitator. This group is open to anyone interested in writing memoir, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or to just enjoy what results from these writing exercises. Writers often share their work in a very friendly and supportive environment. Meets the first Sunday of every month in the Ballou Room at noon. Leader: Marilyn Morton.|
|ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT & FELLOWSHIP||For those who love the Arts and socializing at the Onion, this committee works to coordinate additional opportunities for fun and fellowship!
