What: Film Premiere of Dear President Obama

When: Thursday, April 28, 7:00pm

Where: Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society, 9550 Haskell Ave., North Hills

Details:

Join our friends from the Social Justice Committee and our community partners, Food & Water Watch, at the Onion in the San Fernando Valley on April 28th for the premiere of Jon Bowermaster’s new feature length film, Dear President Obama.

Bowermaster’s work through the last few years has been focused on the communities at the front lines of energy policies that have expanded fracking for natural gas and oil drilling into the backyards of Americans from California to Florida. His previous films Dear Governor Cuomo (New York) and Dear Governor Brown have served as monumental tools for education and organizing around these issues.

In Dear President Obama, Bowermaster zooms out from the local, and dives into what the last eight years of Obama’s “all-of-the-above” energy policy has really meant for the average American on the fenceline of the fossil fuel industry.

Join us for the premiere screening and a riveting discussion with the filmmaker and an expert panel (TBA).

We will not turn anyway for lack of funds, but would appreciate a $5 donation at the door. If your organization would like to help sponsor this event, message Walker Foley for details.

Special thanks to our sponsors: The Social Justice Committee of the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society ( aka “The Onion”), and our friends at STOP FRACKING LONG BEACH!
