A Season of Gratitude and Growth

July 2025

As we move into summer and prepare for a new church year, I’ve been reflecting on all that we’ve experienced and accomplished together over the past year.

Here at SepulvedaUU, even in a time marked by local and global challenges, we have remained grounded in love and committed to justice. One meaningful reflection of that commitment is our continued support for organizations doing vital work in our wider community. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to share the following donations this past year:

  • UU Church of Studio City Drop-In Access Center – $8,000
  • North Valley Caring Services – $57 in cash and over $500 in-kind donations of food and clothing
  • American Red Cross – $300
  • Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) – $230
  • Somos Familia Valle – $372
  • Refugee Children Center – $418
  • Tonga Taraxat Paxaavxa Conservancy – $100
  • CHIRLA (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of LA) – $310

Each of these gifts is more than just a number. Every dollar represents a moment of compassion and solidarity. This community made it happen, and I thank you for showing up with love and generosity.

I also had the privilege of attending the UUA General Assembly virtually this year as a delegate. While I wasn’t there in person, it was still deeply meaningful to gather virtually with Unitarian Universalists from across the country. I am still processing much of what I saw and heard and look forward to sharing a full report with you soon. Stay tuned.

In the weeks ahead, we will keep exploring how we live our values together, how we care for one another, for our neighbors, and for the world beyond our doors. I hope you will join me in these conversations and in dreaming boldly about the future of SepulvedaUU.

With gratitude,

Janet Landau
President
