We are the World
Monthly Theme: Love as CelebrationWhere: Center for Spiritual Living, Zoom: Sanctuary The Sunday Experience4:30 pm – Welcome and Hospitality5:00 pm – Evening Service (ZOOM Opens)6:00 pm – Refreshments6:30 pm – Continuing Conversations “We Are the World” is a song by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie about helping people in need, and the importance of caring for each other. The song’s lyrics convey that we are all human, all the same, and part of the Universe, part of the unknown forces. We should stop pretending that everything is okay, and help each other because too many people are suffering. The song also inspires […]

Thus, broadly speaking, one love is an expression of unity and inclusion. We as Universalist Unitarian are called to live our lives expressing these sentiments. UU Principles on Stones
We will provide smooth stones with our UU principles on them. We will also provide blank stones for children to draw or write their own beliefs about love, friendship, care for the Earth, etc. The children will use permanent markers to draw on smooth stones. They can take the stones home and place them in their garden or path as a reminder that what they believe is important and strong. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Teri I for more information. We hope to see you and your whole family!

Through the lens of the 2024 world view, as we look at various religions, philosophies, and public policies that often speak of being driven by love and kindness, but are not, we must ask ourselves that same question. More importantly, […]
Death Cafe – Session II
What will your loved ones say about you? One way to ensure your story is told correctly is to write it yourself. The great writer Flannery O’Connor said, “A story is a way to say something that can’t be said any other way.” A eulogy — a remembrance speech at a funeral — often includes stories about the departed loved one. Yet how many of us know the whole story and unique path of even those closest to us? It’s not egotistical to write your own eulogy. Many grief counselors and thanatologists encourage people to think about their favorite memory […]

When we try to oversimplify things, we lose the nuances and subtleties that often make the biggest differences. In the Western World, we are taught to think rationally, logically, and in a binary fashion. Often, however, the answer to the question, is it this or is it that, is yes. Come and reflect on the value of resting in ambiguity. What might we learn from […]
