Woodson’s devotion to showcasing the contributions of Black Americans bore fruit in 1926 when he launched Negro History Week in the second week of February to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Woodson’s concept was later expanded into Black History Month. So, during this month I will share as much as I can of Blackness from an American in the United States, and from a global perspective. Teri Ismail

Teri was nudged into Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society. It was green, at least in the spring and the beginning of summer. The grass was tall and the ladybugs were hiding in the grass. Her child played them as well, and she was three years old at the time and is now 45. SepulvedaUU was Teri’s refuge from the city. Ahhh, but things change. Change is […]

I wish you all a happy New Year with lots of health, peace and love. These are the sentiments I was holding onto as the New Year opened. These are the thoughts I still have […]

Dear friends, It is a very special time of year. Truth, every time of year, every time of life is special. Someone is being born, someone is transitioning from this earth, Holidays happen, birthdays come and go, so everyday is special to someone. Sadly, not everyone has the privilege to enjoy the special times due to circumstance, sometimes beyond their control. In my joy and abundance, I want to share with others who, for one reason or another, are in need. So what is this about? This is about me learning about a critical shortage of men’s clothing that the […]
