Bringing Our Wholeness
As we step into January 2025, we embark on a journey of renewal and reflection through “31 Days of Bringing Our Wholeness.” This month-long series honors the profound diversity within our human experiences—celebrating the sacred threads of theology, family, race, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity that weave the fabric of our shared humanity.
In the spirit of inclusion, we hold space for all identities and stories. This series reminds us that Bringing Our Wholeness is both a personal and collective act, rooted in our commitment to radical inclusivity, equity, and love. Each day in January, we will shine a light on voices and experiences that challenge norms, uplift the marginalized, and inspire healing in our communities.
Wholeness is not a fixed state; it is an evolving practice of acceptance, compassion, and justice. Together, let us explore what it means to bring wholeness into our own lives, our congregations, and the broader world.
Throughout the series, we’ll explore:
Week 1: Wholeness in Theology
We begin by exploring the beauty of theological diversity within Unitarian Universalism and beyond. From atheism to Christianity, from earth-centered spirituality to interfaith practices, we celebrate the myriad ways people find meaning and connection. This week calls us to honor differing beliefs as pathways to truth and wholeness.
Week 2: Wholeness in Family
Families come in many forms—chosen, blended, biological, and beyond. This week celebrates the love that defines family, regardless of structure or tradition. We’ll uplift stories of resilience, creativity, and community within diverse family systems, reminding us that every family is a sacred source of belonging and support.
Week 3: Wholeness in Racial Justice
To bring wholeness to our world, we must confront and dismantle systemic racism while uplifting the voices and experiences of BIPOC communities. This week centers on the importance of racial justice in creating equitable spaces where all people can thrive. Together, we’ll celebrate cultural contributions and deepen our commitment to anti-racism work.
Week 4: Wholeness in Disability and Accessibility
Wholeness requires spaces where everyone is included, and accessibility is prioritized. This week highlights the contributions and leadership of people with disabilities, challenges ableism, and envisions a world where accessibility is not an afterthought but a foundation for belonging.
Week 5: Wholeness in LGBTQ+ Identity
We close the month by celebrating the fullness of sexual orientation and gender identity. This week affirms the sacredness of all LGBTQ+ lives and experiences, encouraging us to create spaces where authenticity is honored, and love knows no boundaries.
