Jars of Caring
Jars that have affirmations from the congregation will be waiting for the children. On each side of the box will be the words 1. Ways to care for yourself 2. Ways to care for family 3. Ways to care for friends 4. Ways to care for the Earth and our community. The Children will get stickers to write or draw symbols on each side that answer those questions. Can You Use Straws as a Chalice?
Can you use straws as a chalice? We will provide straws, string, and a candle to invent a chalice. Your child can share their creation with the congregation at the end of the service. Scrambled UU Principles!
One of our activities for children attending our UU service is to assemble a bunch of word phrases into the Seven UU Principles. It is an engrossing activity but also a subtle way of introducing the Principles to our youth. Other activities involving these Principles are being planned. UU Principles on Stones
We will provide smooth stones with our UU principles on them. We will also provide blank stones for children to draw or write their own beliefs about love, friendship, care for the Earth, etc. The children will use permanent markers to draw on smooth stones. They can take the stones home and place them in their garden or path as a reminder that what they believe is important and strong. Sharing a Bowl of Love
This activity is about sharing and caring. Two dolls or stuffed animals will have spoons taped tightly to their arms so that the doll cannot bend their arms. In the middle of the tray is a bowl of pretend food. The children will have to figure out how the dolls can eat. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Teri I for more information. Making a Chalice
Did you know you can you make a chalice out of a pot? This Sunday service, we’ll provide the materials for your children to decorate a chalice and have it to light at home. Children’s Play & Learning Trays
SepulvedaUU is honored and delighted to have children join us during our Sunday services. Though we currently do not have RE (Religious Education) classes for children, we offer a child’s UU Play and Learning Tray, located in the sanctuary, which children are invited to use while sitting with you in the sanctuary. Items included in the UU Play and Learning Tray provide thoughtful and educational amusement that we hope your children will find engaging.
