From Broken to Buddhism: A Growth Mindfulness Story (10/12)

12

Oct 2025

4:30 pm

Speaker: Cesar Cardona

Location
ZOOM Sanctuary & Center for Spiritual Living

Join public speaker and Growth Mindfulness educator Cesar Cardona for a deeply personal talk rooted in Buddhism and lived experience. Raised between a divided household, shaped by a violent adolescence, and tested by depression in his 20s, Cesar explores how inner trust, mindfulness, and Buddhist philosophy can guide us through even our most fractured chapters. This talk invites reflection on how pain can become perspective and how clarity and compassion begin within.

About Our Speaker

Cesar Cardona is a public speaker and educator who developed Growth Mindfulness, a practice that leads to inner stability while embracing change in the modern world. Mentored by Rebecca Armstrong, a renowned storyteller and friend of the late Joseph Campbell, and shaped by Sri Lankan and Tibetan Buddhist teachings, Cesar helps audiences cultivate inner peace, purpose, and connection through transformative talks and workshops.

  • 6:00 pm – Refreshments

Match Our Plate:

We are proud that each month SepulvedaUU is able to match every dollar given in our Second Sunday Offering. Contributions beyond regular pledges are doubled, turning our shared collection into an even greater source of support for local charities.

This month’s Matching Fund recipient is our Community Partner North Valley Caring Services (NVCS), a nonprofit organization serving the residents of the Northeast San Fernando Valley. What began as a soup kitchen in 1978 has grown into the largest single-site food distribution center in the San Fernando Valley, offering FREE programs and services to over 300,000 people a year experiencing food, housing, employment, and economic insecurity.

Your generosity truly makes a difference. Please plan ahead for your giving this Sunday to help us continue doubling our impact!

Children’s Play and Learning Trays:

Children are welcome to join the adults in the Sunday Experience. We provided Children’s Play and Learning Trays, which are filled with fun activities to help children engage and participate in during the Sunday service. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss ways we can best support your child’s Sunday experience, please reach out to  Teri I.
