As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, we turn to the wisdom of Islam, where acts of devotion, fasting, and generosity embody courageous love for God, community, and the stranger. When Islamophobia still harms our Muslim siblings, we will reflect on how interfaith solidarity is itself an act of bold, loving courage.
About Our Speaker
Mirvette Judeh Mirvette Judeh is a longtime community leader, civic advocate, and interfaith bridge-builder in Orange County, California. With over two decades of public service and grassroots engagement, she has worked at the intersection of local governance, community education, and social justice to strengthen understanding across faiths, cultures, and communities.
Mirvette has been deeply involved in interfaith dialogue and coalition-building, bringing together Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and other faith communities to foster mutual respect, counter harmful stereotypes, and build relationships rooted in shared values of dignity, compassion, and justice. Through public forums, educational initiatives, and community partnerships, she has worked to dismantle misinformation and dehumanizing narratives about Muslims, Arabs, and Palestinians particularly in moments of heightened fear, conflict, and political polarization.
Her interfaith work has emphasized education over rhetoric, relationship-building over division, and truth over fear. Mirvette has consistently uplifted the importance of humanizing impacted communities, advocating for accurate historical context, and ensuring that Arab, Muslim, and Palestinian voices are not erased or misrepresented in public discourse. She is especially committed to protecting civic space where difficult conversations can occur without hate or intimidation.
In addition to her interfaith advocacy, Mirvette has held numerous leadership roles in local and statewide civic organizations. She served as a Commissioner on the Citizens Advisory Commission for the City of Buena Park from 2018 to 2023 and is currently the Chair of the Buena Park Planning Commission, where she works to ensure equitable, transparent, and community-centered decision-making.
Professionally, Mirvette has been a REALTOR® since 2002, bringing a people-centered approach to housing and community development. Her leadership and service have been recognized by elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as by nonprofit and community organizations.
Across all of her work, Mirvette remains guided by a belief that peace, justice, and coexistence begin with truth, empathy, and courageous leadership—and that building bridges between communities is essential to creating a more inclusive and humane future.
About our 3rd Sunday TMT/UURJ Full Community Celebration
Our 3rd Sunday Community Celebration, is a time to be spiritually rejuvenated and renewed in the midst of the month led by Rev Gordon Clay Bailey. We will offer BIPOC centered and led inspiration, reflection, and a deep sense of connection. Through music, word, and shared wisdom, we will gather to nourish our spirits and strengthen our commitment to racial justice and collective liberation.
NOTE: Following the service, all are invited to stay for The Mountain Top UU and UUs for Racial Justicecaucus conversations, providing space for deeper dialogue, shared learning, and community building. Come as you are—your voice, your presence, and your spirit are needed and welcome.
All are invited on Sunday evening at 4:30 pm for welcome and hospitality as we gather for our evening Service. Our Service begins at 5:00 pm and lasts approximately one hour after which all are invited to enjoy conversation and refreshments.
