What gives life meaning in a world filled with suffering, injustice, and uncertainty? Viktor Frankl taught that while we cannot always control our circumstances, we can choose our response. Meaning is not handed to us; it is created through courage, love, and responsibility.

But whose stories of meaning have we centered? This Women’s History Month, we lift up voices like Etty Hillesum, whose spiritual reflections during the Holocaust echoed Frankl’s insights, and Toni Morrison, who insisted that meaning is found not in despair but in remaking the world through love and truth.

What theologies have we inherited about suffering? Are we told that pain is punishment? That oppression is ordained? Or can we dare to believe that meaning is born when we resist injustice and choose compassion?

This Sunday we explore how liberation theologies help us reclaim meaning not as quiet endurance, but as active participation in healing the world. Meaning is engagement and always choosing love.

Breaking Bread Together

On the first Sunday of every month our Hospitality Team invites you to join us for a community meal immediately following worship service, Gathering around a shared table is a special time to share stories, deepen our connections, and widen our circle of community. Come hungry, bring a dish if you are able, and most importantly, bring yourself. All who are attending are welcome to bring foods that reflect your heritage or a family favorite. Let us break bread together and celebrate the bonds that unite us.

Children’s Play and Learning Trays:

Children are welcome to join the adults in the Sunday Experience. We provided Children’s Play and Learning Trays, which are filled with fun activities to help children engage and participate in during the Sunday service. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss ways we can best support your child’s Sunday experience, please reach out to  Teri I.
