President’s Corner

I am both excited and sad to give this message from the Board this month. I am happy because it gives me an opportunity to speak to directly to you but saddened because I am doing this because our beloved President is under the weather. Though you may not have noticed because she has been a number of our activities virtually, Janet suffered from a fall this past month and is taking some time to recuperate. She is recovering well and I’m sure she would love your well wishes. You can email her at JanetL@SepulvedaUU.org. She is planning to back up and “running” and with with us in person in the next few weeks.

On the happier side, I do want to let you know about some of the exciting things happening at SepulvedaUU over the next month.

Please mark your calendars so you don’t miss our SepulvedaUU Holiday Gathering on Saturday, December 16th, from 1-4 pm at Emerson UU in Canoga Park. There will be food, music, and games. See me to sign up for potluck dishes, beverages, or desserts.

A gentle reminder to those of you who are participating in the Angel Tree Project, the last day to return your gifts is Sunday, December 10th. Thank you!

We want to thank you all who participated in our Housewarming Baskets Collection. With your help, we will be continuing a collection once a month to assist those who, through the efforts of North Valley Caring Services, are successfully moving into housing after being unhoused. Much needed items are needed for this transition. That’s where we come in. Basic household items are needed, such as towels, washcloths, linens, and kitchen items such as pots and pans and dishes. Also needed are personal items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant and feminine hygiene products, etc. All personal items must be new and unused.  Watch our newsletter and weekly eblast for more information coming soon or contact a member of our Caring Committee. We are grateful for your efforts. Thank you very much.
