President’s Corner for October 2024

Dear Beloved Community,

I hope this message finds you well! Your participation and enthusiasm make a difference in our community. As we start the church year, I wanted to let you know some of what is happening:

  • We had our annual Board Retreat in September. It was inspiring to have deep conversations as we collaborated in mapping out our goals for this year. The Board is forming teams to work on various areas we identified, such as marketing and modernizing our bylaws. You will be hearing more about this shortly.
  • Rev. Gordon will be starting a new RE series in October, as well as continuing the Death Café.
  • We are renewing our Welcoming Congregation Status with the UUA.
  • The program committee is busy planning events for our congregation and the wider community. We are committed to having fun as a community!
  • Social Justice Initiatives. There will be a Progressive Interfaith Alliance meeting in October, watch for the date. We are also looking for speakers on topics of interest.
  • If you haven’t checked it out yet, please take a look at our new and improved webpage. The webpage is often the first place visitors find out about our congregation.

Thank you all for your participation; your feedback is important. A special thank you to everyone who leads or participates on a committee or team. We are successful when we are working together towards a common vision. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events.

In Community,

Janet Landau
President
