The Welcome of Thomas Starr King (12/14)

As we approach the birthday of Thomas Starr King, we celebrate his life and legacy as both Unitarian and Universalist. King’s commitment to inclusion, welcome, and courage in turbulent times reminds us that wonder is not only found in beauty – it is also found in acts of justice and community. His example calls us to widen our welcome and deepen our covenant.

Children’s Play and Learning Trays:
Children are welcome to join the adults in the Sunday Experience. We provided Children’s Play and Learning Trays, which are filled with fun activities to help children engage and participate in during the Sunday service. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss ways we can best support your child’s Sunday experience, please reach out to Teri I.
Matching Funds w/ UU Service Committee (UUSC)
We are proud that each month SepulvedaUU is able to match every dollar given in our Second Sunday Offering. Contributions beyond regular pledges are doubled, turning our shared collection into an even greater source of support for local charities.
Your generosity truly makes a difference. Please plan ahead for your giving to help us continue doubling our impact.
For over 80 years, The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee has worked to challenge injustice and advance human rights. Through their work with frontline communities and grassroots movements, they are building a better world together.
With roots in helping Jewish people flee Nazi Europe in the 1930s and 1940s, UUSC has a dynamic history of showing up for communities facing injustice and oppression, they build relationships with oppressed communities, whose rights are threatened all over the world. From Central America to Ukraine, their history shows unwavering commitment to support people in building power and expanding their rights.
They work alongside grassroots groups to foster and implement community-led solutions — whether it’s adapting to our changing climate or ensuring safety and support for families in migration due to war, violence, or other oppressive conditions.
