Update from the Drop-In Access Center at UUCSC

1 November 2025

Our congregation has been supporting the Drop-In Access Center at the UU Church of Studio City through donations and ongoing partnership. Below is the most recent update they shared about their work and how our contributions are helping:

The Drop-In Access Center at the UU Church of Studio City continues to serve an average of 50 guests each week, offering essential services, supplies, and a welcoming space for our unhoused neighbors.

While we continue to work on navigating city bureaucracy and bringing back the shower truck, we’re grateful that the cooler weather has provided some comfort to our guests. The trees on the property, which had been heavily pruned earlier this year, have finally grown back, restoring much-needed shade and creating a more hospitable outdoor environment.

We’re especially thankful to NoHo Home Alliance for their generous donation of t-shirts — they’ve been a tremendous help. We are always in need of men’s clothing (especially boxer briefs). However, as the seasons change, we will need jackets and sweatshirts to help our guests stay warm and comfortable.

None of this work would be possible without your steadfast partnership and generous financial support. Your contributions directly sustain our operations, ensuring that the Center remains a reliable source of dignity and care in our community.

With gratitude,

Janet
