Vice President’s Message for October 2024

As Vice President, my responsibilities are to be ready to act in the absence of our president and to support her when she needs me. I am also responsible for the board retreat. So, I will share a little bit about it.

Our board retreat this year was successful and meaningful. We had a wonderful facilitator, James Coomes, who is the president of UU Neighborhood Church, he is also a social worker, and has been trained as a hostage negotiator. What! A hostage negotiator. I guess we are covered if we have any arguments, but no, we are very loving and supportive of each other.

We discussed goals, dreams, and visions, and we discussed how to do the work to build them into a reality. You, too, can come to a board retreat. All you must do is volunteer for a board position.
