We Do Not Turn Away From Injustice
July 2025
Summer is here, and our beloved minister will be deeply missed.
He’s taking this season to rest, recharge, and return in September with a renewed sense of purpose — and, no doubt, with fresh wisdom to share.
In the meantime, we carry on with purpose and commitment.
Our small but dedicated community has become a hub —
a place to stay informed about what’s happening in our city,
a place to gather in support, in care, and in shared values.
Throughout the summer, we will continue to hold space on Sundays.
We’re here for those who are looking for connection, meaning, and a place to belong.
We’re here for you
There is nothing more powerful than love fueled by determination.
That’s the kind of power we hold in our Sunday services —
a power rooted in deep care,
in bold compassion,
in a love so strong it reaches beyond these walls and out into the streets of Los Angeles.
I would like to share these thoughts with you to reflect on during the month ahead:
We do not turn away from injustice
We do not turn away from injustice.
We face it.
We rise up.
We take one step, then another — even when the road is painful, even when the struggle is long —
because we believe everyone belongs.
Everyone has the right to be here.
Everyone has the right to be fully themselves, exactly as they are.
Sunday is our time to breathe.
To reconnect.
To be in the presence of kindred spirits who believe, like we do, in justice, dignity, and love that takes action.
This is not just a gathering.
This is a movement of the heart.
Come be part of something larger than yourself.
Let your spirit be nourished.
Let your courage be renewed.
And as you leave, take this love with you —
because the world needs what we carry,
and it begins right here,
with all of us, together.
