As Coordinator of Amnesty International USA San Fernando Valley, Nestor Fantini will speak about the history, goals, and methods of the human rights organization, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1977. He will then address Amnesty’s concerns regarding migrants and refugees, with a focus on the militarization of Los Angeles to carry out mass deportations.

Nestor Fantini is an Argentine-American and an educator, journalist, and human rights activist. Fantini was a pro-democracy student activist imprisoned during Argentina’s “Dirty War” of the 1970s, who was adopted as a Prisoner of Conscience by Amnesty International and whose ordeal was portrayed in a 2019 documentary video produced by Amnesty.

Children’s Play and Learning Trays: Children are welcome to join the adults in the Sunday Experience. They will be provided Children’s Play and Learning Trays, which contain various activities so that the children can participate in during the Sunday service. If you have any questions, please contact Teri I.

All are invited on Sunday evening at 4:30 pm for welcome and hospitality as we gather for our evening Service. Our Service begins at 5:00 pm and lasts approximately one hour after which all are invited to enjoy conversation and refreshments.
