Marilyn Morton

Marilyn, a native of Los Angeles, first came to SepulvedaUU in 1986 and found it to be a very welcoming community in which she could safely explore her spiritual beliefs. She has been here ever since, serving on nearly every committee as well as the Board of Trustees, including the positions of Board President, Vice President and Secretary.

In 2014, Marilyn retired from the City of Los Angeles/LADWP with 40 years of service, 24 of those years as a clerical supervisor. Her writing background led her to volunteer, for a number of years, as a teacher in a writing program for incarcerated youth called InsideOUT Writers and, until Covid shut us down, led a monthly writing group at church for those who wanted to explore writing in a fun way.

Marilyn remains enthusiastic about the opportunities for even a small group of UU’s to effect positive and needed change in our community as well as our ability to foster growth and a deeper commitment to each other.
