Imagining King with Radical Possibilities

Monthly Theme: Love as Pluralism
Where: Center for Spiritual Living, Zoom: Sanctuary

The Sunday Experience
4:30 pm – Welcome and Hospitality
5:00 pm – Evening Service (ZOOM Opens)
6:00 pm – Refreshments
6:30 pm – Continuing Conversations

At this point I believe we all have listened to the excerpts of Dr. King’s famous speeches. I’d even say most Americans believe in much of what King said in terms of Equality, Justice and Racial Harmony. But have you ever imagined Martin Luther King Jr as the president of the UUA? Can you think about the possibilities of the UU movement as the primary place in the nation where people of all colors, creeds, genders, orientations, worship, play, and act for justice together?

Well, I have and I even know of the dialogue that went on with Dr. King about the possibility of this happening. Join us as we re-imagine our denomination, our beautiful congregation, and even our connection to others we’ve never known or thought of before. Let’s channel Dr. King as an active force for social change and theological discourse, and the building of the Beloved Community.

NOTE: This will be a “Full Community Celebration” with The Mountain Top UU and UUs for Racial Justice. After the Service, we will be hosting an extended checkin and discussion space with breakout rooms for BIPOC and White Siblings.

All are invited on Sunday evening at 4:30 pm for welcome and hospitality as we gather for our evening celebration. Our Service begins at 5:00 pm and lasts approximately one hour after which all are invited to enjoy conversation and refreshments.

All are welcome!
